Type Monkey Type!

It was 4:30pm and I was there for one particular band. 'Type Monkey Type!' They're a local indie/crunk band. The very first time I heard of their music, I was actually going to a fund raiser a couple years back for my brother-in-law's band 'Go 7'.

After their band had finished up their set, Mr.Awesome
and I decided to stick around for the next set and boy, was I ever happy we did.

They opened up their set with an Intro song. No vocals, just music. The beat was very groovy and I found myself tapping my fingers on the table about a minute into the Intro.....

I'm very skeptical when it comes to music...a one hit wonder won't grab my attention, especially an intro. They jumped from the intro straight to their song 'Watch Something Burn' (which to this day has been my favourite) and I got hooked.

What's more surprising....was the fact that every single song they had, you were able to dance and groove to. To be honest, they looked like a bunch of kids on the stage. You can not deny the fact that they loved what they were doing. You could feel the energy in the air.

They portrayed such a free, childlike & loose environment that it made me even want to dance about. I could feel the people in the room start to groove and bounce around the lot. As bad as this may seem, I was waiting for a song in their set that I would be able to say "See I told you! It's too good to be true! Fluke songs" ... but I never got a chance.

We stayed for their entire set, and there was not a single song in that set, that I did not fancy. That was the first encounter....this second time around, I seemed to be experiencing the very exact same thing. This band is a band of talent and a big love for music.

I highly suggest you taking a listen to at least one of their songs...you'll get hooked, just as I have.
